The Waves (After 7 Years of Abstain)
When we got there, we unpacked our things and then I put my lazy ass on the plastic rug (I don't what you call this rug, but I think you get the idea), waiting for lunch to be served. The kids (there were 5 kids, 13 years and younger) and the teenagers (two teeange girls) went to the water as soon as we got there (whoooaaa, be patient kids! The water ain't goin' nowhere! =p We have 7 hours here!), refusing their lunch at first =p While me and the other "older" kids (don't know what to call myself, since I'm stuck between two generations. There were three people in their twenties, a cousin of mine, me and there's this girl, a 24-year old cousin of one of that teenage girls) chatted for a while and had our lunch first. I wouldn't have thought of getting near the water if it hadn't been my 24-year old cousin. And then, as most people expected, I was the longest in the water =) We went to the deeper area (and I dragged these kids there, hehehehe, some adult I am), since it was where the waves started to break and the waves struck harder there. I carried my little cousin, and held the other kids. At first they were affraid since they never got to swim to the middle (since no adult would want to go that far and supervise these kids on their previous visits. But then I realized why the middle-age adults, or simply the parents, never wanted to go further to the middle. Since they are in their fourties, the waves on the middle are too strong for them and they can get tired more easily. The middle-age males needed to drive our cars as well, so they better save their energy. They only bathed or swam near the shore), but then they (the kids) realized how fun it was (as an adult, I had to be responsible of any terrible thing that might happen to these kids). The teens went with us, and even farther from where we were (they got warning by the lifeguards off the shore because of being too far from the shore). All I know, I just let the little boy inside me out for 5 hours yesterday (yes, I spent 5 hours in the water). I carried my 12-year old cousin on my left hand, a 10-year old girl on my right hand, and an 8-year old boy on my back (sometimes they switched to my 24-year old cousin), and we swang against or got dragged by the waves (it was like flying, since the water was deeper, sometimes I could barely feel my feet touching the bottom of the sea). But the sea was filled with these tiny, white-transparant crabs, biting every swimmer, including me. This felt very itchy, and it hurt for sure.
And when the day was over, what I suspected happened, I turned horribly tanned and darker, with black blotches on some parts of my body because of those crabs biting me. But then I realize that I forgot how fun it was swinging against the waves since my last bathe in the sea, 7 years ago (1998 in West Java). Before this trip, I always refused of getting inside the water everytime I went to the beach. And sorry, I have no pics for this trip, I didn't bring my camera, but if my cousins happen to upload their pics and send those to me, I will upload the pics on this blog.
