Preparation Fatigue
This semester has been the busiest semester I have ever experienced in UM - St. Louis. Half of the early semester was spent for the preparation of the Indonesian Night 2004 (I spent 80% of my time for Indonesian Night and 20% for my school ;-p) and half of the latter was spent for paper assignments (see my previous article, This Ain't No Vacation). When the mid of December was approaching, all of my appointments intertwin and twist each other that once, a couple of weeks ago, I let down one of my very dearest friends :-(
Praise Allah, now the Fall 2004 is over, yet I haven't found all of the souvenirs or requests from my family or relatives. I bought this blouse for my Mom by Express, it costs me somewhere in US$ 35.00 or 45.00. But, hey, it was made in Indonesia! :-D I plan to return it the day before I depart and worst of all, I couldn't find any stylish shirt for my Dad (his size is XXL by the way). In addition, I still need a couple of more stuffs for my own sake like cup noodles, personal medicines, etc. Oh, wait, I forgot this Princess Dora doll for my niece! (Uhmm, I wonder what this doll would be on the hands of a 1-year old)
Paper works, uhmm, well I finish all my paper assignments and all the student-temporary-travel-outside-the-US documents. But wait, my Financial Crisis in ASEAN: Causes and Effects independent study paper cannot be submitted since my independent-study advisor is out to China and will be back on December 15. Interesting isn't it, he requires a short presentation while I depart on the same day and my plane will leave on 08:00 AM St. Louis time! Oh well, I plan myself to give him a call some time next week to explain the whole paper (short presentation via telephone, what else can I do?). All this preparation stuffs make me tired, but hey, I enjoy it. Anyway, for those of you who are students or are going to graduate, enjoy your holidays, and for those of you who are not, enjoy the upcoming Season Greetings :-) Happy holidays.
